TIPS:
- DO NOT DRINK ALCOHOL. Your body takes so long to process and get it out of your system that its almost like starting from day 1 if you choose to drink during the challenge. Try hard not to drink!!!
- DRINK WATER – at least 100 oz a day. I have a 24oz water bottle that I just refill all day so I can keep track of my water intake. Drinking lots of water is VERY important!!
- The best part about Advocare to me is you don’t have to weigh your food, measure your food, or count points, calories, etc. As long as you know you are eating lean protein and lots of fruits and veggies then you’re good.
- During the cleanse phase (first 10 days) don’t eat starches. No rice, bread, chips, tortillas, etc.
- During the Max phase (second phase), you can introduce the healthy version of the starches so brown rice, whole wheat pasta, whole wheat bread, whole wheat tortillas.
- During the MAX phase (second phase of the challenge), take your “before breakfast” pills as soon as you get up and then make a shake in the AM. Having a shake in the AM kicks off your metabolism for the day. This will help you see results! I did not know this so I think this was a reason my results weren't as great as I wanted.
- Eat every 2 hours so your body is full and you are not grazing and looking for something to snack on. As long as you are eating from the list of foods provided in the links below....you can eat as much as you want!!!
- Peanuts are a good snack
- Fruit is a good snack
- Hummus with cucumbers, carrots, broccoli, etc
- Hard boiled eggs – I had 2 every day during the challenge for protein
- Egg whites – made these up in the morning and took with me to work so I ate around 9:30a cause I had my shake at 7am.
- Lunch – salad with vinaigrette dressing with chicken; grilled chicken with steam veggies; lean burger (no bun) with veggies;
